SAN JUAN CITY/CEBU CITY/BUTUAN CITY – Various volunteer organizations have joined the Caraga Region’s Ikaw Muna (IM) Pilipinas in supporting Presidential aspirant Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso and Vice-presidential candidate Sara Duterte in the coming May 2022 elections.

This developed as the IM Pilipinas, one of the largest volunteer networks for Domagoso, officially launched “ISAng PILIPINAS” Caraga to serve as an umbrella organization of groups from Mindanao supporting Domagoso and Duterte.

Later, the coalition was launched at the Club Filipino in San Juan City with actress Vivian Velez, a known President Duterte supporter, as lead convenor.

In Cebu City, it was reported that calls to support the respective bids of Mayor Isko Moreno and  Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio is snowballing.

“As chairman of IM Pilipinas-Visayas, I crisscross basicaly the Visayas area and all chapters are calling for an Isko-Sara combination,” IM Visayas chairman Nick Malazarte said in a press briefing.

Malazarte said IM Pilipinas was formed in November to push Moreno to run for president.

Malazarte claimed that IM Pilipinas is the biggest support group of Moreno and there is a clamor among its members to support a Moreno-Duterte-Caprio tandem.

While the group is not dropping Moreno’s running mate, Dr. Willie Ong, supporting Moreno and Duterte-Carpio will give the Manila mayor a big boost, Malazarte said.

“There was a clamor for an Isko and Sara tandem. The tandem will help Isko because Sara is very popular as a vice presidentiable. There is a clamor and it will also enhance political support for Isko,” said Malazarte.

In a statement, IM Pilipinas Caraga Regional Convenor Alain Buque said “overwhelming” support continues to push for the Isko-Sara tandem.

Mayor Sara, however, continued to be firm on her stand on supporting former Senator Ferdinand Marcos Jr. as her presidential candidate.

“People from all walks of life including businessmen, sectoral groups, fraternity, and brotherhood associations and our less privileged kababayans (countrymen) have joined us in this event of support for the tandem,” he added.

Buque said the launch of the IM Pilipinas was the result of the massive support of Mindanaons for Domagoso and Duterte.

He added that the spirit of volunteerism was evident in each of their events where supporters use their own resources to deliver victory for the Isko-Sara tandem.

Ernesto Palaran, president of the Butuan Basurero Association, believed that people belonging to their sector will get enough attention and assistance once the Isko-Sara tandem wins this year’s election.

In San Juan City, supporters of President Rodrigo Duterte and  Mayor Isko Moreno formed a coalition to push for the tandem of the Manila mayor and and Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio for the upcoming elections.

Called “Isang Pilipinas,” the coalition was formally launched  at the Club Filipino in San Juan City with actress Vivian Velez, a high profile supporter of President Duterte, leading the coalition.
