QUEZON CITY – In celebration of Farmer’s Day and Farmers and Fishers Month this May, agricultural and science-technology writers, communicators and editors have organized a news and features service to present new twists, good vibes and perspectives to promote farming and agri ventures in the Philippines.
Called ANN, Agriculture News Network, the service will present its reportage on the Country Currents website in cooperation with ACES (AC Editorial Services) and its bimonthly newsmagazine called Country Currents, according to Aries Chan, ACES managing director. Its output will also be available to different media, institutions and interested individuals.
“We hope to contribute our share in popularizing farming and other facets of agriculture, fisheries, livestock, poultry and birds, trees and grass, among others, so our farmers will be fully appreciated as our frontline food production heroes and that the youth will be encouraged to go into agricultural ventures,” said Chan. “Overall, we hope to help government and the private sector as well as individual farmers and fishers boost production for the country.”
“Our group can also team up with institutions and private sector in boosting their publicity and promotions campaigns through web development, editing, placements, and preparation of newsletters, magazines, books, coffee table books, comics, photographs and graphics and other materials in various platforms,” he added.
ANN has started initial works and will be fully operational next month, Chan said. (Agricultural News Network)
